MUNICIPALITY OF TUBA

      A kilometers away from the Summer Capital of the Philippines is Tuba Benguet. Trekking the rugged roads of Tuba is sometimes a failure for the tourists to visit but behind this stereotypes is a beautiful place for you to relax. Tuba is known for the Ava/Gabi festival celebration where in you can witness the different native tribal dances of Igorots. 
      Tuba is a wonderful place that you will enjoy nor forget because of the beauty of nature. It's a place of adventures and and lot of explorations.

Here are the attractions and tourist spots from Tuba-Benguet:




1. DINOSAUR ISLAND & HOLY LAND 

      This is an existing man-made attraction from the municipality of Tuba. Experience the place of old times like the stories from the bible, and enjoy the dinosaurs island. There are places for shopping enthusiasts to buy wood carved items from small ones to tables and other furniture as well as decorative materials. You may carry your purchase or let the shop ship them out to your home destination. Dinosaur Island & Holy Land is located at Badiwan, Marcos Highway Tuba,Benguet.

2. KENNON ROAD(ZIGZAG ROAD)

      This is an existing man-made attraction of the municipality of Tuba. Built in the 1900's by the American as access to the City of Baguio, it has remain as such until the alternate route, Marcos Highway was built in the late 1970's. The "zigzag" road has breathtaking hairpin curves following the Bued river to the boundary at Saytan, La Union. Its sunflower-clad and pine scented mountainsides remain to be its main attraction. It is only for light vehicles while undergoing rehabilitation after the earthquake of 1990. This road is built during the late president Ferdinand Marcos.

3. MARCOS PARK 



       This is an existing man-made attraction of the municipality of Tuba. Along the Marcos highway was built this Park including the Marcos bust, mini-golf course, guesthouses, a swimming pool and view decks then managed by Philippine Tourism Authority. The entire park was turned over to the LGU of Tuba and the guesthouses are now used as school classrooms. Since then, several portion of the park have been claimed as private property of the community residents and part of the community are ancestral domain of the Ibaloi people of Tuba.

4. PHILEX MINING CORP. 

      This is an existing man-made attraction of the municipality of Tuba. It is the biggest mineral producer in the country operating in the province and yet pays its national wealth tax to the City of Makati. While mineral ore reserve of the province being depleted, the irony is that the people of Benguet gets only a tiny slice of the pie while the rest of the country and Makati gets 98% of the taxes paid by the mining corporation.

5. STA. LUCIA REALTY CORP. 

      This is an existing man-made attraction of the municipality of Tuba. This private corporation runs a clubhouse with all amenities that tourists would likely for. It's good for the upcoming summer vacations. Located at Santa Lucia Marcos Highway Tuba-Benguet.

6.MARCOS HIGHWAY (PALISPIS HIGHWAY) 
       
      This is an existing man-made attraction of the municipality of Tuba. Recently renamed as the Palispis-Aspiras Highway, this 42-km road was built during the time of Gov. Ben Palispis of Benguet and DOT Secretary Jose Aspiras. It serves now as the main highway to Manila and the Lowlands.

7. KLONDYKES PLACE 
      It is a potential natural attraction found in Tabaan Sur. It is privately owned resort offering an enjoyable picnic site and swimming areas. It is one of the favorite destinations of Baguio residents due to its proximity to the city.

8. CABUYAO BURIAL CAVE 

      It is an emerging natural attraction found in Poblacion. It is a burial cave of the ancestors of the community residents. It maybe included as a site to visit when trekking to Mount Santo Tomas.

9. MT. STO. TOMAS 

     It is an emerging natural attraction found in Poblacion. It is popularly known for having the two biggest radar stations in this part of northern Luzon. One who reaches the apex of the mountain is rewarded with cool air and a magnificent view of the sprawling City of Baguio on one side and an afternoon breathtaking sunset view of the South China Sea on the other. To get there, jeepneys plying the Green Valley- Santo Tomas route are stationed near the Bayanihan Hotel at Burnham Park, Baguio City. The fare is 12 pesos for a 20 minute ride. Lapresa is located at Mt. Sto. Thomas, it's where you can harvest fresh fruits and vegetables. You can also see here the production of Dairy Milk call as The Dairy Farm. A lot of thing can see in Mt. Sto. Thomas.

10. TUKANG/ARAN CAVE 

      It is an emerging natural attraction found in Twin Peaks (Camp 3). The cave is a challenge to the experienced spelunker. It is located on the other side of the Bued River at Camp 3 along Kennon Road.

11 .COLORADO FALLS

      It is an emerging natural attraction found in Twin Peaks. Its attractive natural swimming pool is visited by the local people very often. It also has picnic grounds. The falls is found a few meters away from the national road (Kennon road)

12. BRIDAL VEIL FALLS
      
      It is a potential natural attraction found in Camp 4. It resembles a "bridal veil" when viewed from the national road. Bridal Cave is very impressive due to the view and cold water coming from the mountainous areas of Camp 4.

13. SINIMBAAN CAVE 

      It is a potential natural attraction found in Ansagan. It is a multi-chambered natural cave still unexplored. For the experienced cave explorer one can gather edible bird's nest to bring home for cooking into soup. The place is inaccessible by road. It takes stamina and a hard day's hike to reach the place from where the road ends at Camp 1, Tuba. But the local residents claimed these efforts are worth it once the cave's spectacular features are seen.

14. BALDING HOT SPRING

      It is a potential natural attraction found in Camp 3. it is still undeveloped but the local residents believe in the curative values of the waters especially for skin ailments and arthritis.



15. TABORA SPORTS ARENA
      This is an existing man-made attraction of the municipality of Tuba. This is privately owned enterprise with license to operate cockfighting derbies.

16. BENCAB MUSEUM

      It houses the works of a master of contemporary Philippine art. BenCab stands for Benedicto Cabrera. Hailed as a master of contemporary Philippine art, BenCab, now 72 years old, has been painting for almost 50 years. In 2006, he was conferred the Order of National Artist for Visual Arts in Malacañang Palace by President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo. He’s also said to be the 
best-selling painter of his generation of Filipino artists. The Bencab Museum is full Contemporary Philippine Arts where in you will be amazed, some arts of Mr. Bencab is showing the rich culture of Cordillerans.

17. SIPITAN & YANGED TUNNELS, BROWN MADONNA SHRINE 

      This is an existing man-made attraction of the municipality of Tuba. These two tunnels located on the way to the Asin Hot springs were built by a British company to continue the Manila railroad line to City of Baguio. It was discontinued and abandoned in 1915 when the cost of construction ballooned to 1000% of the original budgeted amount. The Shrine of Brown Madonna is located at Km.6 Asin Rd. Tadiangan, Tuba-Benguet. It's a man made stone tunnel which is serve as a church.

18. WOOD CRAFTS & SOUVENIR SHOPS
      This is an existing man-made attraction of the municipality of Tuba. They are places for shopping enthusiasts to buy wood carved items from small ones to tables and other furniture as well as decorative materials. You may carry your purchase or let the shop ship them out to your home destination. This wood craft were built by Ifugao people from different places of Kiangan. Located at Km.6 Asin Rd. Tadiangan, Tuba-Benguet here we can see different kind of wood crafts from displays, tables, chairs and etc. at low prizes.

19. ASIN HOT AND SULFUR SPRING

      It is an existing natural attraction found in Nangalisan. Several privately owned resorts with swimming pools, lodging and restaurants await tourists and travelers for a memorable stay in the place. Its clear hot waters from the hot springs are therapeutic for the weary muscles. Asin Hot Spring is one of the centered tourists spot of Tuba-Benguet. Regular jeeps ply the place from the City of Baguio almost every hour. It takes 16 kilometers or an hour ride to reach then.

      There are more swimming pools in Asin Hot Spring. The hot springs are sulfur springs came from a dormant volcano Mt. Sto. Thomas. This hot spring can boil an egg in a few minutes. On the other hand, the cold and fresh water came from the mountain which flows down the river. If you want to refresh your body Asin has a clean and cold water in the river which is perfect to blown your mind and go with the flow of the water.
